Anyone else watching Chuck?
« on: November 13, 2007, 12:52:47 PM »
It stars a man who has a computer in his brain.  It features our favorite gun-totin' mercenary with a girl's name.  It's quirky and silly.  And hey, the guy works for the Nerd Herd.  What isn't there to like?

We've been watching it since day one, and I really like the show.  It's not doing so hot in the ratings, and I'm afraid the strike will blow it to smithereens.

Anyone else watch it as religiously as I do, or even occasionally?  Anyone want to discuss the finer points of the life of one Charles Bartowski?

I watch it. Mostly due to the fact that it leads in to Heroes but I like it. It's funny. Plus the people who work at the BuyMore are all hilarious.

The BuyMore seriously cracks me up.  Poor Morgan.  Maybe he'll make AM since Tang moved the fam to Hawaii...that would be poetic justice.  Also, could be blackmail considering the revelation Big Mike made this week...

So, is Casey gonna do it?  I gotta assume that the creators won't kill off the title character even if they're in the middle of a writers' strike.  How are they gonna get Chuck out of this predicament?

I think the solution here is obvious.  The new intersect will get downloaded into Chuck, upgradin' him, and maintainin' his value to the government.

And Casey will be behind the upgrade!

They could always sabotage the new one.

Well, if it's beta, then they have to have end-user testers, right?  :D  Maybe Chuck will volunteer.

If they are thinking about getting rid of Intersect 1.0, maybe Bryce has a plan to destroy Intersect 2.0a to keep Chuck alive.

I read on www.chucktv.net that the series has been greenlit for a 2nd season, but there probably won't be any new episodes until the fall.  :(  It's been great watching the old episodes on Sci-Fi, but man, I need me some new Chuck!

At least Casey's character has gotten some development in the past few episodes.  Crown Vic?  SHINY!

Yeah, the writers' strike saved quite a few freshman shows, includin' Chuck & Life (my personal favorite of the season).

Loved the Crown Vic episode, as well as the one with Casey's ex-girlfriend.

Yeah, I read that sometime last year in EW about the strike saving some freshman shows with less than stellar ratings.  At least that's another silver lining out of the whole thing.

I read on the chucktv website that Casey's character development was

in preparation of the new intersect being created, which means that Chuck would be redundant (read will be killed if the NSA has their way).  The character dynamics I'm sure were meant to play counterpoint to the new orders coming down from the brass.

Just started watching a few weeks ago.  It's not rocket science, but the characters grow on me :)
