When I first saw Objects in Space, I thought that Jubal was an extremely strange character, and potentially a change from the standard archetypes that populated TV. But, that all changed when I got my hands on an old(ish) show called Brimstone (circa 97 or so). In episode 7 'slayer', Richard Brooks (yes, the guy who plays Jubal in Firefly), plays the role of a character with extremely similar speech patterns and characteristics. Now, unlike the Toy Soldiers that went ape over the similarities between Dr Horrible and their beloved Dr Steel, I'm not going to cry plagarism, just point out that the similarity is significant. I'd like to suggest that those who haven't seen the show obtain a copy somewhere and check for themselves.
