That was my take as well. Middle is always difficult because it doesn't always have the same grippedness as the hook and the big finish. But I loved the last song and I near died laughing at the "The hammer is my penis" line...it was just SO WELL delivered!!

I enjoyed it.  It's not a new love of my life, though.  I really wanted to love it way more.  But, it was good.  Well, everything Joss does is good.  :)

I MUST MUST have one of the Captain Hammer FanGirl shirts the girls are wearing in III! And one with Dr. Horrible would be great too :)

Maybe one as a tshirt and one as a cami :)

My overall take: I really liked it. I agree with Beth, not my new love, but it was still so beautifully campy and silly and twisted. The very last scene was one that made me stop and think WTF just happened?

He's not all dressed up as Dr. H and he is looking sorta sad/loser-esque.

I was wondering what others' reads were on that very final shot?  ???

I took that final shot to mean that under it all maybe he didn't get what he really wanted and at heart, he's still just Billy, who does feel...

Jeez I mean I know Joss hates happy endings and puppies, but I thought this was just gonna be a goofy fun little production.  Instead we get a dark, sad ending.  :-[

I guess I didn't expect it to end that way.  How does Joss continue to shock me with this stuff?  Darn you Joss!

That's not to say I didn't like it or anything.  I just liked it the most at the beginning.  Act 1 > Act 2 > Act 3

Still must buy the DVD.  I'm already sad that I can't watch it again and again today.  I hope they don't take too long getting that DVD together.

That was another sad thing about the story.  I just don't see sequels happening without Penny.  I suppose Dr. Horrible could bring her back to life or something.  That would seem sorta lame though.  I guess we could see Dr. Horrible struggling with the evil he's committing.
