I had a VIP pass at a convention and I had "first pick" of who I'd want to eat with.
That was a short story. ;(
Amy was exceptionally Fred-like. She was shy, nervous and soft-spoken. We talked a lot about her pregnancy and flying while pregnant. There had been turbulence on the way into Tampa that day due to storms, and she was afraid she was going to miss dinner. She asked me a lot about my job, and she seemed very interested when I said that I work on events. She asked me if I had run any private events, and I told her that at the time, I had not. I got the sense like she had something in mind and was looking to hire someone. Amy seemed to much prefer playing Illyria since Fred was so much like her (for example Joss would ask "what food do you like?" and Amy would say taco's, and next thing you knew, Fred loved tacos.). We also talked a lot about Austin and Dallas since she's from Dallas originally. I gave her a box of Lammes candies, and she told me how much that reminded her of home.
Her husband said that he wanted to launch a convention cruise, and he said that we should get together and arrange that (I should have given him my card.) For those of you not familiar, Jim Carpinello is Amy's husband. He told me, "I played John Travolta's son in The Punisher and I'm on So Notorious." (yes that horrible Tori Spelling show.) I kind of felt bad for him...
Amy also spoke a lot about her best friend, Neil. How he made her laugh, that they spend a lot of time together. She later clarified that it was Neil Patrick Harris. She also talked about Andy Hallet, who had called her saying that he still had a baby gift that he hadn't gotten to her from her first baby, and that he's have to get another gift for the new one. She pretty much said Andy was zanny and always busy.
The next day, I had a photo op with Amy, and she was "play battling" with Johnathan Woodward. She was pretending to beat him up, which I kind of enjoyed since his character infected Fred with Illyria. I told them that, so they both posed in the picture with me.
