So, we've only had 2 Austin Browncoat registrants so far.

Who else is going to register?  Remember, if you're eating food - you need to buy a ticket.

And we need you to buy tickets so we can pay the hotel.

Spread the word, folks!

$150, huh?  Whew...

Well, I'll have to wait until payday, at least.

I'm still debating.

First, I'd really rather have someone to escort. $150 is a bit much to be a wallflower!

Second, I have no sewing skills and I can't find any site that sells the costume I'd want (I'm thinking Alliance Dress Uniform... because someone has to be the bad guy  :D ).

It's still early though. So these variables may change. But until then, I think I'm going to hold-off on forking out that kind of dough . :)

I have a few costuming friends that would love to make an Alliance uniform for you.

Tell me how much you would pay...and I'll get specifics for you.

I should be able to make it, but between All Con & Fear Fest, I can't cough up the cash 'til April.

When's the deadline?

Dang! There goes one of my perfectly good attempts at ducking out! :D

No but seriously, that's cool. I'm thinking if the tickets cost $150, then a costume that costs the same wouldn't be unreasonable. Feel free to start questioning your friends and let me know what they say. However don't have them start anything. I'm not 100% sold on the Alliance uniform.

I hate to say this, but I've learned from previous conventions I've attended, that most people don't register to til the last minute. So if the deadline is September, then expect a lot of people to register in September.

Well, I'm thinkin' sooner the better...after all, Beth knows where I live.  She won't ever drive here, but she could put a hit out on me or something...

So, I'll have the ticket taken care of in May-ish...

...stupid question - dress code.  Is a costume a must, or can I just where something nice (shirt, tie)?

It's a Ball, so Ball attire is recommended, although not required.

Suit and/or tux is nice.  Costumes are always welcome.

(Last year, we had a couple people in t-shirts and pants - I'd prefer less of that kind of dress, personally.)
