Training - Walking to Start
« on: June 24, 2009, 08:48:24 AM »
OK folks I really want to get back into walking/race events.

In the past I've done the Schlotsky's Bun Run; The Race for the Cure; Walk America for March of Dimes; and Train to End Stroke.

I really want to get back into this.  Not only for health reasons, but they are good charities as well.

So I need to start training.  I need to start walking at least 3 to 5 times a week and go from there.  I know myself, and I know that I will start off with the best of intentions, overdue it and either injure myself or get worn out, so I either need to have a trainer/helper/coach/workout partner(s) or I need to start slow and gradually work my way up.  Either way I'm all about walking with some Browncoat folk.

I cooked dinner last night for the first time in forever, and while it wasn't Fogo quality, it has inspired me to start cooking again - wanting to eat full and balanced meals, and work out.  I really need to quit stalling and get back on that wagon.  I've been losing weight very very slowly, and every now and then gaining some back, but losing again.  I really want to start this life change hard core...and exercise is key.

Anywho sorry for the long post.  I think my point to all of this is, does anyone want to train with me, or go walking a couple of times a week?  I love swimming too for folks that might prefer that.

I'd love to train with you.  I need to get more fit.

Yay for training!  Perhaps Beth and Claudia can help us out?  :)
