Dragon*Con is the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the US. And Austin Browncoats are soooooo there! We have a dealer's booth which we are sharing with Kids Need to Read. Check out our Volunteer Needs if you are interested in volunteering. Claudia will be working her knitting magic during the con again this year, with proceeds going to KNTR. Pledges can be made online as well as at the booth during the con, check it out.

So stop by our booth and visit if you're at the con. If not? Check out the Knit-a-Thon site, make a pledge and/or tell your friends. Join us in cheering Claudia on and see just "how many Jayne hats can be knit at Dragon*Con?"

We're watching: Safe

We don't do it often, but because a number of Austin Browncoats will be out of town or otherwise occupied on September 6th, we're moving First Sunday to Second Sunday.

Cost: Potluck style, please. We'll definitely need someone to bring some bevvies.

Want to practice for that next American Idol audition? Well, neither do we. But we do love us some karaoke. So come join us as we stretch our vocal chords. And don't worry if you don't exactly sound like the next Elvis. Only our webmaster, Sam, does!

When: 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm (or 12:00 am)
Cost: $20.00 per hour for up to 6 people, $5.00 per person per hour for any additional person.

Once a month, we get together to try a new (or new to us) restaurant in Austin. Occasionally, we'll hit up a local favorite, as well.
